CCA Achievements

  • Participating in the Aerobot Challenge 2023 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic: was an experience, especially as I led a team of my juniors to a commendable 4th place finish. In this competition, we faced the challenge of flying a drone and operating a toy car, tasks that required precision, teamwork, and quick problem-solving. As the team leader, I guided my juniors through planning and practice sessions, ensuring everyone was well-prepared for their roles. Our coordinated efforts and perseverance paid off as we navigated the drone through and maneuvered the toy car with accuracy. The competition not only tested our technical abilities but also strengthened our teamwork and leadership skills, making the 4th place achievement a memorable and rewarding milestone for all of us.

  • STEM Playground 2022: Certificate of Accomplishment for creating a dome made of straws that could withstand the weight of approximately eight phones. I encouraged my group to push for more because of its potential to endure more weight.

  • MakeX Preparation Programme 2022: Designed and programmed an mBot to collect trash around town and return it to a garage, learning to overcome challenges through trial and error and teamwork.

  • MazeMaster Competition 2023: Victoria Secondary School held a competition where we programmed an mBot to complete a maze. Our WallHug script worked perfectly on competition day, and our trainers commended our performance. Despite not winning an award, we were placed in the top five. This experience taught me the importance of hard work, communication, and perseverance.

I attended three outreach programmes at Unity, Yew Tee, and ZhengHua Primary Schools, where we showcased our Robotics CCA and achievements to the students, encouraging them to join our school. Through these experiences, I became more socially present and improved my interactions with peers.

Outreach Programmes

I participated in an enriching experience with the Singapore Deaf Society, where I recited sign language and edited a montage. Reciting sign language allowed me to communicate inclusively with the deaf community, enhancing my non-verbal communication skills. Editing the montage involved compiling and arranging footage to create an engaging visual presentation. This experience honed my technical abilities in video editing and deepened my appreciation for accessible communication and the deaf community's culture.

Recently  I participated in the Willing Hearts programme, where I dedicated my time to providing various essential services. My responsibilities included washing trays, ensuring they were clean and ready for use, packing cardboard into a van for recycling, and sorting sweet potatoes for meal preparation. This experience not only allowed me to contribute to the community meaningfully but also taught me the importance of teamwork and diligence. Working alongside other volunteers, I gained a deeper appreciation for the efforts involved in supporting those in need and the value of giving back to society.
